panties

I'm no longer a bachelorette party virgin. At the ripe old age of 35, I attended my very first one. All I'm going to say was that we had fun, we didn't do anything terribly stupid and thank goodness we hired a limo. Boy, that's a sentence fragment I never thought I'd utter.

That was funny, but it was not a sentence fragment.

Yours in grammatical rectitude.

Actually, if you really want to get picky your use of parallelism is faulty. "... and we hired a limo, thank goodness" would be more gramatically precise, but to my ear lacks the verve that the more colloquial "and thank goodness we hired a limo" has. So don't worry, you're not setting a bad example for your readers....

I stand by my earlier statement about you, "long-winded speechifying" indeed! Thanks for the lesson, you grammarian you.
