If you ever get to Trinidad and/or Tobago, I heartily recommend you immediately pick up a bottle of Spees. They are an addictive and tasty treat, made from "split peas, salt, spices, vegetable oil", according to the label. There are two options: pepper and no pepper. "Pepper" is spicy and mmmm good.

I have a small bottle on my desk, a little over half gone, and I am already sad about the day when I finish it.
