break of the spring

Spring break is a state of mind, I've discovered. We notice that faculty tend to wander into the li-berry, blinking as if they've just come up from underground, to see what's new or to track down those last references for papers. We work on projects we've been too busy to do during the thrust of the semester. We start to think about the summer. We daydream a little.
