days like

Me, to hubby:
"There are days, like yesterday, when I say to myself, 'this isn't so bad.' And then there are days like today, which wasn't horrible, but I wonder why I'm doing this to myself."

saturday addition

Saw several houses today. Liked the first one a bit, liked another one a lot. The downside to the one we both liked is that it has carpeting and wallpaper, all in blue. I should be able to see a few more places this week after work (one has a pool!). +1

Cleaned the house a bit, although I haven't vacuumed the den furniture, which is badly in need of dehairing. Laundry is about halfway done. Absolutely no papers graded or planning for next week accomplished. I really can't wait to have a job that doesn't require this much weekend/evening work, outside the already worked 40 hours. +1-1=0

On the plus side, my allergies are much better today. +1

do you have itchy, watery eyes?

The tree pollen count went from 200/400 up to 700 today. I am miserable. My head is pounding, my eyes watering, my sinuses going from crazy sneeze fest to blocked, my nose is red and swollen and my lips are dry from breathing through my nose.

I never had allergies before I moved south...

oh no he di'n't

During our faculty meeting today, I turned to one of my colleagues and said, "Did he just say our kids learn how to bully from their parents?"

"Yes, he did," was her response.

Oh my goodness gracious.

Day 8

And so it begins...

Today I've brought home a huge stack of work. Some to simply check for completion, and 50 or so stories to read. Tomorrow I'll get a stack of 50 essays. The semester has officially begun.

Day 1

Took the dogs (minus Jeremy) to the dog park this afternoon. Discovered Pixie loves the little dog side, doesn't love the big dog side. Her favorite sport is to jump up on anyone dumb enough to sit along the sides. Her second favorite is to play chase. Snow checked in with us frequently and put her feet up on our pants, so changing pants was necessary upon the return home. Otherwise she appeared to enjoy her visit and both girls passed out for a good nap this afternoon.

Currently full of food, waiting for dessert to be manageable, and sort of watching Kill Bill. Really sorry that the winter break is nearly at an end. Happy that strawberries and whipped cream will help.
