it's the everyday stuff

I spent most of the last week staying overnight at one of our assisted living homes. It was fine. The job itself was fairly easy. What I realized, though, was that I Missed My House...and my cat and the dogs and the PIG. It was tough knowing he was across town and we could talk on the phone but I couldn't spend any time with him. It sucked, actually. Last night I returned to the fold and after dinner I changed the sheets, crawled into bed and CRASHED. I didn't hear the PIG come to bed or anything. Ah, the joys of domesticity.

more relaxing than you can shake a stick at

Sitting here at home while the guys play vidya games with the PIG. Kitty pants sits behind me on her (current) favorite chair and the dogs are curled up with various humans. This assisted living gig has turned out to be a lot of down time and very little to actually do. Had I known, I might've borrowed a computer to write or something... As it is, I finished my book and begged a new one from one of the boys. Turns out it's GREAT. All about a woman escaping from Prague in the 1970s. It's gorgeous weather and I've spent a good bit of the weekend outside walking around or sitting in the backyard reading. After a fairly horrific week, the weekend she is good to me.

duh huh

Oops, thought that link was to the results, which said that I match up with Hillary Clinton. So now you know.

hopeful

Sitting here in the family room, or den, of our new house. Hoping Kitty Pants is okay outside. Hoping this whole living together thing goes okay.

and here we go again

We've been packing up the PIG's apartment for the past few weekends. We've done a little bit of work at my house too, and the front door is now painted a very cheery red. Next weekend the moving process begins.

I've got two other pigs at my home--the school's guinea pigs have paid a visit for the weekend. They are very cute and enjoy eating fresh veggies and fruit. Unfortunately they are due for a spa weekend, which includes having a manicure. Brushing shouldn't be stressful but I'm expecting them to squeal like stuck...pigs when I trim their nails.

We're giving ourselves a spa day tomorrow for our anniversary. We decided it should be every super bowl sunday! I'm looking forward to my deep tissue massage like you wouldn't believe.
